Sometimes the word “Professional” is haphazardly utilized to describe the services provided by a firm. In this instance this term does not adequately describe the services provided by C2G Environmental.

Just a note to Thank You for coming to my home on a Sunday to evaluate our potential oil spill. You investigated and evaluated our home and the outcome did not warrant any breaking of the concrete basement floor and no further testing needed to be done. The event that led to the need for oil tank removal, soil remediation, and insurance was a result of our desire to install a new sidewalk, add drainage and landscaping to the back of our home. The work was to be performed by Mark Masseo of Masseo Landscaping, New Paltz. After observing the old buried oil tank Mark felt that it would be in our best interests as home owners - to have the oil tank examined for contamination before he removed it. With our approval he brought in Paul Bany and Lou Mastro of C2G Environmental Services of New Paltz.

Despite the old tank being packed with sand, C2G ascertained that there was oil residual which had somehow migrated out. C2G sent us a cost proposal for remediation and brought in the DEC who concluded that the situation, although seemingly small, could have wide reaching consequences to adjoining properties. Indeed, an oil spill is an oil spill is an oil spill regardless of scope. This in turn led us to seek help in abating the costs for remediation which was far above our financial resources. Well, our good fortune was that we had been State Farm Insured home owners for over 25 years and Jim DeMaio (New Paltz) and Joe Bristol (Syracuse) came through and found the way to afford us coverage.

Their work in remediating the soil and water was thorough and comprehensive despite the work site being impacted hourly by a high water table. The good news is that the soil remediation was successful and was approved by the DEC. The oil spill case was also closed by the DEC. So thank you Mark, Joe, and Lou.
